OREANDA-NEWS. May 07, 2008. Russian Railways has increased staff salaries by 4,8% as of May 1, 2008. The Company adopted the decision in accordance with the collective agreement for 2008-2010 and the relevant decree by Vladimir Yakunin, President of Russian Railways, reported the press-centre of Russian Railways.

The minimum wage at Russian Railways from May 1, 2008 is now 4,394 roubles, nearly double the minimum wage of 2,300 roubles in Russia.

The collective agreement at Russian Railways provides for the quarterly indexation of employees’ wages linked to consumer prices increases.

In accordance with the terms of the collective agreement, the previous wage indexation on February 1, 2008 was 4,1%.
