OREANDA-NEWS. May 07, 2008. In the Latvian Railway History Museum there took place a ceremonial event to mark the closing of the action Pride of SJSC Latvijas dzelzcels, reported the press-centre of LDz.

The candidates for this honorary title were nominated by the colleagues, the members of Trade Union of Latvian Railwaymen and Transport, Latvian Railwaymen Society, and the passengers.
In 2008 the honorary titles were given to:

Liga AKERBERGA – Human Resources Officer at Daugavpils Regional Centre, LDz Cargo Ltd.

Jevdokija CEREPANOVA – Ticket Agent at passenger station Kegums, JSC Pasazieru vilciens
Nikolajs DMITRIJEVS – Senior Inspector, Technical Inspection

Uldis FREIMANIS – First Class Engine Driver, JSC Pasazieru vilciens

Galina GAICUKA – Engineer of Work Organization and Salaries, Riga Permanent-way District

Ivans JEKIMOVS – Electrician at Rezekne Electric Power Supply District, Daugavpils Signalling and Communications District

Ceslavs KONDRATS – Deputy Head of Passenger Service Division, Head of East Passenger Service Unit, JSC Pasazieru vilciens

Viktors KRAUKLIS – Engineer of Locomotive Maintenance, length of service 50 years, pensioner

Ugis Magonis, Chairman of the Board, SJSC Latvijas dzelzcels (LDz) presented a ceremonial speech to the candidates and event guests: “This year LDz has started a new tradition for the first time – giving honorary title Pride of SJSC Latvijas dzelzcels to the nominated employees from LDz. I think this event that will take place in spring annually will be a symbolic and nice event in our company, and will bring pleasant moments in everyday work.”

Each candidate was given a special gift: the ladies received a lavaliere with a chain and the gentlemen - a tie-pin
