OREANDA-NEWS. May 7, 2008. The acceptance certificate of the fourth tanker “Dorida” for the shipping company Pietro Barbaro S.A. (Italy) was signed at Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard, MNP Group.

The contract for construction of tanker was concluded in December, 2006. Earlier Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard handed over to Pietro Barbaro S.A. three tankers: “Elektra” and “Klimena” were handed over in summer, 2006; tanker “Maya” – in June, 2007.

The tanker is capable of carrying up to five types of cargoes in a voyage, including crude oil, oil products, diesel fuel and fuel oil. Double sides and a double bottom of the tanker prevent from oil spillage. Class: КМ IIСП ЛУI А3 of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping. DWT of the tanker is about 5000 mt, basic characteristics of the tanker: length – 140 m, width – 16.9 m, draught – 3.7 m, depth – 6.1 m, cargo capacity is 5400 mt, speed – 10 knots, endurance of the vessel is 15 days. The navigation area of the ship is inland waterways (sea-river), sea Nearctic regions according to the class.

At present Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard has ten tankers (project RST22) 7000 dwt and three tankers (project 19619) 13400 dwt under construction for Palmali Group. New vessels comply with tougher ecological security rules (ECO project). The Yard is also building one tanker (project 19619) for Azerbaijan State Caspian Shipping Company (KASPAR). In April 2008 Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard signed a contract for the construction of thee tankers 5600 dwt (fourth tanker - in option) with Argo Shipping International (Panama).
