OREANDA-NEWS. May 7, 2008. Mr. Medvedev signed the Decree on Measures to Develop Housing Construction, which stipulates that the Fund’s purpose is to facilitate the development of individual and other housing construction and the infrastructure to go with it.

Under the Decree’s provisions, a list of plots of land under federal ownership, including land made available by federal state enterprises and institutions, will be drawn up for subsequent transfer to the Fund.

The Russian Government will have until September 1, 2008, to draft and submit to the State Duma a draft law on the use of land under federal ownership exclusively in the aim of carrying out the state powers set by legislation.

The Government will have until January 1, 2008, to adopt technical regulations on the safety of buildings, facilities, constructions and other installations.

The Decree comes into force from the date of its signature.
