OREANDA-NEWS. On 06 May 2008 was announced, that Ukrsotsbank together with UniCredit Bank and supported by the European office of UniCredit Group held the V-th Allukrainian students` Olympics for the UniCredit Group prize, the final of which was held in Lviv. The basic idea of the event is to help talented young students to identify and develop their abilities, create favourable conditions for the professional realisation.

About 1200 students from almost ninety higher educational establishments of Ukraine participated in this year's Olympics. 15 students who demonstrated the best knowledge of banking business in the first round of Olympics came through to the final.

The winners of the Olympics have become Dmytro Yurhelevych, Kharkiv Institute of Banking of NBU University of banking, Serhiy Kravtsov, Donetsk National University and Dmytro Yevtukh, from Odesa State Economic University.

All finalists were awarded gold bullions, Ukrsotsbank payment cards and certificates of first round winners. Winners of the final competitions got also the cash gifts: First place - UAH 6000, Second place - UAH 4000, Third place - UAH 2000.

The jury comprised representatives of UniCredit Group from four countries: Austria, Italy, Poland and Ukraine.

"For these people it was a surprise to see at what level our children communicate. In Europe, youth grows up later and our students already have good knowledge. I have no fear for the fate of the Ukrainian banking system ", - Iryna Kniazeva, Deputy Chairwoman of JSCB Ukrsotsbank said.

One of the winners of the Olympics Dmytro Yevtukh noted that the organization of such competitions is a very good idea. "Unfortunately, such events are held very seldom but they allow the Bank to identify its potential employees who will contribute to the success of the financial institution", - shared his thoughts the student.

Olympics which Ukrsotsbank holds for the fifth time already allows fulfil the potential of future human resources and to prepare them for work in the bank in advance.

"Our current participants demonstrated not only knowledge of formulas or patterns, they showed skill and ability that would enable them to become successful bankers in the nearest future", - Tetiana Zemliakova, Ukrsotsbank Head of HR Department says.

Of course, the main winner Dmytro Yurhelevych is the one most pleased with the participation in the Olympics: "First, this contest helps raise my self-esteem, because all competitions, which holds the Ministry of Education, all student Olympics are not, in my view, objective, are not adequate. Only this contest is conducted by the employer and this is the highest test, which can only be passed", - estimated the Olympics future specialist.

The organizers believe that their initiative is of great importance for the students because it allows you to check the knowledge and skills and discover the potential employer in practice. For the bank it is an opportunity to help young professionals to get the first and moreover promising work.

"In this Olympics really interested both sides - the bank, which receives future staff and students who have engaged in contacts with future employers", - believes Olexandr Nesterenko, Deputy Chairman of the Ukrsotsbank Board.

Foreign guests also left under the impression from the Olympics. Member of the jury and the head of UniCredit Group executive development, Monica Poggio (Italy) enthusiastically shared her thoughts after the Olympics. "First, the event was organized professionally - noted Mrs. Monica. – The even was interesting and dynamic. Your students demonstrated not only knowledge but also showed great enthusiasm and the will to victory".

Monica Poggio expressed UniCredit Group readiness to further support the holding of annual student Olympics. She also noted that the next year the development program of talented young professionals called Talent Management Review starts in the Group.

Ukrsotsbank once again congratulates the winners and recalls that all participants of the student Olympics have an opportunity of employment at the bank. Number of students who took advantage of the right and started to build a successful career in Ukrsotsbank, makes already not even hundreds, but thousands.
