RBD Took Part in VI Russian-German Day of SME Financing
OREANDA-NEWS. On April 28, 2008 Executive Vice Chairman of the Managing Board of RBD Nadezhda Martynova made a report at VI Russian-German Day of SME Financing which was held in Sochi, reported the press-centre of RBD.
According to Mrs. Martynova among the tasks assigned to the State Corporation “Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank)”, SME funding is of priority importance. Currently the aforesaid mission is being accomplished by the State Corporation via RBD.
N. Martynova stated that SME loan support is being required in the RF member entities and regional banks need developing adequate programs targeted at attraction cost-acceptable "long" funds. Within this context by now according to RBD’s program 92 regional credit institutions have been working and the Bank has opened credit lines to 65 of then. Taking into consideration the priorities of governmental SME policy the funds are being channeled firstly for production enlargement and upgrading. The maximum loan within the current RBD’s program amounts to RUR 150 million with maturity starting from 2 years.
Among the task assigned to RBD in 2008 are following: to enlarge by 40% the SME loan support, expansion of the program’s territorial coverage, firstly in the resource-deficient regions, increase of industry, infrastructure and innovation sectors in the regional banks’ loan portfolio breakdown.
RBD intends to master new arrears of activities. Priority attention, in particular, shall be paid to objects of SME infrastructure support. In this area RBD is studying possibilities of interaction with the specialized entrepreneurship centers and agencies, engineering and scientific parks, innovation and technology centers, business incubators and special funds. The given projects will be implemented in close cooperation with the Ministry for Economic Development and Ministry of Regional Development of the Russian Federation as well as with local governments and social organizations. “Networking of federal and regional executive authorities, SME support foundations and Russian financial institutions is very important for all-inclusive support suitable to SME demands”, – pointed out the Bank’s representative.
Representatives from the Federal Ministry of Finance and the Federal Ministry of Economy and Technology of Germany, governments and administrations of the Southern Federal Okrug of Russia, KfW Banking Group, German and Russian financial institutions as well as the administration of the Krasnodarsky Kray participated in VI Russian-German Day of SME Financing, organized by the consulting society OST-EURO.
