OREANDA-NEWS. April 30, 2008. According to NBM, as of April, 1st, 2008, 691,8 thousand cards, or 12,1 % more than for the same period of the last year (617,01 thousand cards) were in circulation in Moldova.

In particular, the number of cards of international payment systems has increased by 12,5 % - from 604,27 thousand up to 679,5 thousand and the cards of local payment systems decreased by 3,1 % - from 12,7 thousand up to 12,3 thousand.

The issue of bank cards of national and international payment systems was performed by 12 banks of Moldova.

Cards of MoldCardSystem were issued by 1 bank, UNICARD by 1 bank, Visa International - 7 banks and MasterCard Worldwide by-12 banks, respectively.
