OREANDA-NEWS. May 04, 2008. The insurance company ROSNO-MS and the Higher School of Economics have continued a series of seminars dedicated to urgent issues of the Russian healthcare reform by jointly holding a roundtable discussion "Medication Insurance Development Strategy", reported the press-centre of ROSNO.

ROSNO group was represented at the roundtable by the Executive Director of OJSC ROSNO-MS L. D. Popovich and Advisor to the CEO of OJSC ROSNO-MS K. M. Kelmanson.

Mr. R. U. Khabriev, Deputy Director of the Department of Social Policy and Environmental Protection of the RF Government Administration, delivered a report on the existing medication supply system and possible ways to improve its availability, and Mr. D.V. Reikhard, Director of the Federal OMI Fund, told about the concept of medication insurance development in Russia. The presented materials have drawn a brisk discussion among the participants.

Commenting on the reports delivered at the seminar, the Executive Director of OJSC ROSNO-MS L. D. Popovich noted that, while the medication insurance development strategy is of significant interest for the insurance market, yet it requires further refinement. "Already now, it touches upon the two most important issues: first, improvement of public access to medication supplies, and second, improvement of quality of medical services rendered to the general public", said Ms. Popovich.

Contributions to the roundtable discussion were made by representatives of State Duma Health Protection Committee, Ministry of Healthcare and Social Development, Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of Finance, Russian Healthcare Supervision Department, Accounting Chamber, FFОМS, chief executives of the largest insurance companies, scientific and medical institutions; and independent experts. The seminar was presided by the Research Director of the Higher School of Economics, Mr. E.G.Yasin.
