OREANDA-NEWS. March 4, 2008. The contemporary paining of Chinese students will be displayed in Gavriil Vaschenko Picture Gallery in Gomel. The presentation of the exposition will take place on May 7 under the auspices of the embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of Belarus. The exhibition will last till June 15.

The works of art reflect traditional and new trends of the Chinese decorative art. For the young Chinese artists these are the first significant works.

The exposition comprises more than 50 pictures created within the recent two years by the graduates of the prestigious art academies of China. Judging by a high artistic level of the works, their authors can become famous in the near future. In this respect, the exhibition gives an opportunity to look into the future Chinese painting.

The Chinese paining has several centuries of its history. The first oil-paintings appeared in China around the 16th century. For more than four centuries the Chinese paining balanced between the traditional culture and the foreign influence, and changed in line with the social and historical tendencies. The contemporary Chinese paining takes a special place in the world art.
