OREANDA-NEWS. April 30, 2008. ROSNO’s Yekaterinburg branch has concluded two civil liability insurance contracts with OJSC Izotop, reported the press-centre of ROSNO.

The first contract contemplates protection against the risk of radioactive accident during operation of nuclear plants, radioactive waste storage facilities, use of nuclear materials for performance of research works. The object of insurance under the contract is property interests of OJSC Izotop related to its obligation, as stipulated by the RF legislation and international agreement (Vienna Convention on Civil Liability for Nuclear Damage), to reimburse the damage inflicted to life and health of third parties.

Furthermore, ROSNO will compensate all of the insurant’s expenses associated with evacuation of people from the contaminated area, as well as the expenses incurred to rehabilitate the affected population.

The second contract covers the enterprise’s civil liability related to transportation of radioactive materials throughout the transportation route.
