OREANDA-NEWS. April 29, 2008. In line with article 5.1 of the charter of the Russian Trade Union of Nuclear Workers, Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation conducted a inaugural meeting of its primary trade union organization. The head of the Social Policy and Awards and Decorations Division of the Personnel Management Department of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation Valery Kuzmin has been elected the chairman of the organization.

On Apr 21 the primary trade union organization of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation was admitted into the Russian Trade Union of Nuclear Workers.

The formation of the trade union organization will be carried out simultaneously with the recruitment of the staff of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation. Trade Committee #8 will continue its work in line with the agreement on the organization of the work of the trade union organization of the Federal Agency for Nuclear Energy and the trade union organization of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation during the period of transition.

Valery Kusmin was born in Krasnopolianskoye, Nazarovsky district, Krasnoyark region, in 1950. In 1977 he graduated from Tomsk Polytechnic Institute, in 2003 the Academy of People’s Economy of the Government of the Russian Federation, in 2006 the Civil Service Academy of the President of the Russian Federation.

In 1973 he started to work in the nuclear industry: deputy director for personnel and social security of NIIAR; director general of Conversion Ltd; deputy director for marketing and personnel of SCICET. In 2002 he entered the Central Office of Rosatom.

Kuzmin has big experience of personnel management, remuneration and motivation. He has been a member of a municipal Council of People’s Deputies, the vice chairman of a trade union. He has managed two projects: development of professional pension system for employees of research and development companies and training of personnel for research reactors in the framework of TACIS program. Kuzmin has chaired committees on housing, certification and retirement insurance. He has made a big contribution to the development of Rosatom’s awards and decorations system and institution of new professional awards.
