OJSC North-West Telecom Started Testing Triple Pay
OREANDA-NEWS. April 29, 2008. The first customers to use the services were the residents of three town blocks in Krasnogvardeysky district of St.-Petersburg. During the trial period the subscribers will enjoy free digital phone network (SIP), 5 Mbit/s broadband internet and 33 digital TV channels.
The obvious advantage of PON for the customers is the possibility to obtain a whole range of services via one high-speed optical channel with guaranteed quality and service level. The subscribers can obtain all communication services (phone, internet, TV) from one provider, which means simple management and just one bill.
PON was the logical next step in the development of OJSC NWT multiservice network and Triple Pay services. In 2006 the company started offering DSL broadband internet branded as "Avangard" and soon reached the leading position at the market.
In December 2007 OJSC NWT offered IP TV under the trademark "Avangard TV".
In addition, from 2007 OJSC NWT put into operation SoftSwitch by Siemens for 300 000 ports, which ensured sufficient capacities for the Triple Pay services and allowed increased digitization of the Company network.
