Domodedovo Maintains Its Leading Position Among European Airports
OREANDA-NEWS. On 28 April 2008 was announced, that ACI EUROPE (Airports Council International – European division) published a report on performance of 106 European airports in February 2008. According to the report Moscow Domodedovo International airport is the leader of 2nd Group which passenger traffic varies from 10 to 25 millions passengers per year.
Domodedovo airport comes first with its 25.6% of growth in February 2008 (in comparison with the results of the same period 2007) of among fast-growing airports of 2nd Group. Second position holds Berlin Tegel International Airport (23.3% of growth), third comes Vienna airport with its 20.3%. Average growth ratio of the Group reached 10,3% in comparison with the results of February 2007 and 17,8% of growth in comparison with the results of 2006.
Airports Council International (ACI) is the only worldwide professional association of airport operators. ACI EUROPE represents some 400 airports in 45 European countries. Member airports handle 90% of commercial air traffic in Europe, welcoming over a billion passengers each year.
ACI Europe is a regional division of ACI Global, headquartered in Geneva. Its regional branches represent interests of over 1 500 airports from 170 countries. Dmitry Kamenschik, Chairman of the Board of EAST LINE Group, is a member of ACI Europe Board.
