OREANDA-NEWS. On 25 April 2008 was announced, that the realization of the new project of the European union “Protect the child!” is begun in Astana. The project provides a number of actions, including legal and socially-psychological trainings for children, parents and responsible social workers at more than 25 schools of Astana and nearby settlements.

At the project it will be opened “A hot line”. All the interested parties can receive free-of-charge legal and psychological consultation during term of realization of the project. Leaning on the responses acting on “A hot line”, and poll experts will lead monitoring cases of infringement of the rights of the child.

The project should promote involving of local communities, parents and children in process of protection of the rights of children, and also development of effective mechanisms of protection of the rights of the child in Kazakhstan. Realization of the project, which general budget is made with 50 000 euro, has incurred the Kazakhstan public association “The center of social adaptation of children”.

Today within the limits of the beginning of realization of the project in Astana has been opened the conference on which have been discussed existing problems in the field of observance of the rights of the child in Kazakhstan, a condition of the legislation in this area and its conformity to the international standards.
