Privolzhsk Railways Completes Covered Line to Repair Freight Wagons
OREANDA-NEWS. On April 24, 2008 Privolzhsk Railways, a subsidiary of Russian Railways, has completed a covered line on which running repairs can be carried on railway wagons to prepare them for loading petroleum products, reported the press-centre of Russian Railways.
The covered line is at Neftyanaya Station on the Saratov stretch of the Privolzhsk main line and cost 14 million roubles.
The new facility is the only one of its kind on the Privolzhsky main line and serves freight wagons from the North Caucasus, Moscow and Gork Railways.
The covered line can repair 220 wagons a day and has reduced the repair times of wagon tanks by almost 2 times and increased the volume and improved the quality of the repaired wagons.
And of course, wagons can now be repaired in any weather.
