OREANDA-NEWS. On April 22, 2008 the oil company TNK-BP, Charitable Fund Zaschita for implementation of social programs of the Ministry of Defense, and General V.F. Margelov Higher Military Airborne Forces Command School of Ryazan signed an agreement on cooperation in Ryazan, the press service of TNK-BP said.

According to this agreement, TNK-BP will render a financial aid of \\$10 million to the military school in the framework of a long-term program for partnership between TNK-BP and the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. This financial aid will be used for implementation of social programs of the Ministry for servicemen and their families.

The agreement was signed by Alexander Gorshkov, Vice President of TNK-BP, Mikhail Maikov, Director of the Charitable Fund Zaschita, and Vladimir Lugovoi, Acting Head of the Higher Military Airborne Forces Command School.

Upon signing this document, Alexander Gorshkov noted that the external social investments made by TNK-BP last year amounted to approximately \\$150 million. These investments were mainly directed to support of socially vulnerable population strata, support of education and development of the youth, conservation of the cultural and historical heritage of Russia, growth of a healthy generation, and implementation of public environmental protection programs.

The CJSC “Ryazan Oil Refinery Company,” which is the largest oil refinery of TNK-BP, and a network of service stations working under the brand of TNK are in the Ryazan Region.
