Director General of Klaipeda Port Visits Azerbaijan & Turkmenistan
OREANDA-NEWS. April 21, 2008. The prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania Gediminas Kirkilas, accompanied by the official delegation including Director General of SE Klaipeda State Seaport Authority Sigitas Dobilinskas, will visit Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, reported the press-centre of Klaipeda Port.
Official delegation of Lithuania accompanying the prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania Gediminas Kirkilas, consists of: Member of the Seimas H E Ambassador of Lithuania in Azerbaijan Kestutis Kudzmanas, Chancellor of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania Valdemaras Sarapinas, representatives of the ministries of Foreign Affairs, Transport and Communications, Culture and Economy, head of the Secretariat and advisers to the Prime Minister, Mayor of Klaipeda, Director General of SE Klaipeda State Seaport Authority Sigitas Dobilinskas, official representatives of Special Intelligence Services, AB „Lietuvos gelezinkeliai“, Lithuanian economic development agency, AB „Klaipedos nafta“ and other enterprises and institutions.
Official delegation of the Republic of Lithuania consists of more than 60 persons. Next to the above-mentioned members of the delegation there will also be heads of business companies and M.K.Ciurlionis quartet as well as the representatives of media: „Lithuanian Radio and Television“, „Verslo zinios“(Business news) and „BNS“.
During three-day visit the Head of the Government of Lithuania is planning to meet the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Alijev, Prime Minister Artur Rasi-Zadech and the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuchammedov and discuss development of bilateral relationships, paying special attention to economic relations, cooperation perspectives in the fields of energy and transport as well as to talk on important regional cooperation matters.
During the visit it is planned to sign intergovernmental agreements on economic cooperation and collaboration in the field of transport. It is also foreseen to organize business forums in Baku and Ashkhabad where the businessmen might come into contacts and discuss cooperation perspectives.
