OREANDA-NEWS. On 23 April 2008 was announced, that the unique opportunity to visit ESPO construction sites was given to the visitors of Pipeline Transport-2008 trade show, which took place in Moscow at the Expocentre.

In addition to basic technologies for the engineering of pipeline transport facilities and the equipment used for construction and installation, Transneft's booth offered a video of the progress of the ESPO project. Visitors could see with their own eyes all the aspects of construction and review the machinery used in engineering work on the project.

In oil pipeline engineering, special attention is given to the process of pipe welding, which provides for total monitoring using visual, X-ray and ultrasonic inspection methods, as well as to the quality of follow-up work to seal the joints with shrunk-on rings.

The trade show visitors were much impressed by the harsh climate and environmental conditions of the builders' work and their everyday life on the ESPO project.
