Finance Ministry of Ukraine Proposes to Raise Rates for Ethyl Alcohol
OREANDA-NEWS. April 18, 2008. The Government plans to raise excise rates for ethyl alcohol and cigarettes almost twofold. The draft law on "Making Amendments in Some Legislative Acts of Ukraine on Excise Duties" was elaborated by the Finance Ministry, Kommersant-Ukraine wrote.
Cost of a license for retail trade in strong drinks and tobacco goods is decreased to UAH 250 per each trading post. Presently, a right for trade in tobacco goods costs UAH 2,000 per one trading post in the cities and UAH 250 in the villages, a license for trade in strong drinks - UAH 8,000 in the cities and UAH 500 in the villages.
The Cabinet instructed to introduce new excise marks for marking strong drinks depending on the excise duty, paid per one unit of the marked products since July 1, 2008.
