OREANDA-NEWS. On 21 April 2008 was announced, that during the official visit to Ukraine, the governmental delegation of Czech Republic headed by Mr. Miloslav Vlchek, Chirman of Chamber of Deputies of Parliament visited ANTONOV ASTC’s flight base.

Members of the delegation were familiarized with the main directions of the activity, scientific and technical potential of the enterprise and modern ANTONOV programmes.

Especial attention was paid to the process of the programme of AN-148 regional jet of a new generation, wide use of AN-74 multifunctional family, unsurpassed capabilities of AN-70 STOL widebody military transport, successful work of AN-124-100 Ruslan heavy transport within the NATO’s and EU’s SALIS programme in which Czechia takes part as one of 18 other participants.

Mr.Vlchek noted that AN-24 passenger and AN-26 transport aircraft operated for a long time in Czechia are well-known in the country.

He highly appreciated AN-70’s performances studied by aviation specialists and pilots of Czechia in details. In conclusion the speaker of Czech Parliament expressed interest in development of cooperation with ANTONOV ASTC, the enterprise, which designed AN-225 Mriya, the airplane with the biggest cargo capacity in the world.
