OREANDA-NEWS. April 21, 2008. A telephone conversation took place on April 18 between Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

The main attention was devoted to the situation in relations between Russia and Georgia and to the issues surrounding the settlement of the Georgian-Abkhaz and Georgian-Ossetian conflicts. Sergey Lavrov set out our principled assessments, particularly accenting the urgency of the instruction given by the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, to carry out a set of measures to normalize relations with Georgia.
