On 18 April 2008 was announced, that as part of celebrating its 15-year anniversary RBC, in partnership with MICEX and RTS, held the contest “Best Stock Market Analyst of Russia in the Opinion of Private Investors”. The contest was designed to raise the appeal of the Russian equity market and distinguish the best stock analysts in Russia, draw attention to their personal achievements and underscore their professionalism.

The contest was conducted via online public polls. It should be noted that 292 stock market analysts took part in the contest and the voting ended on April 5, 2008.

Deputy head of research at AntantaPioglobal Investment Group Alexander Potavin was named the best in the category “Best Analyst of the Current Market”, receiving a huge number of votes (2,060). His victory came as no surprise, as Alexander has more than 12 years of stock market experience and, in line with RBC’s rating, he has been among the Top 10 of stock market strategy analysts in the past two years.

Olga Gurudeva easily outpaced other rivals in the category “Best Strategist” and, frankly speaking, we did not expect any other result from the senior analyst and strategist at Pioglobal Asset Management’s asset management department. The group’s senior analyst Maxim Osadchy took the top award in the category “Best Analyst in the Banking Sector”. Likewise, head of the group’s small-cap valuation division Anna Krylova left her competitors far behind, winning out in the category “Best Analyst in the Telecommunications Sector”. Another award went to deputy head of research at AntantaPioglobal Evgeny Ryabkov who came out on top in the category “Best Analyst in the Metals Sector”. Thus, AntantaPioglobal Investment Group analysts have once again confirmed their major expertise and won the most important prize – recognition of Russia’s private investors. The results of the contest “Best Stock Market Analyst of Russia in the Eyes of Private Investors” will be announced during the solemn ceremony to be conducted in honor of the winners of the national award “Financial Olympus 2007” on April 16, 2008.
