Inflation in Moldova Made 7,4%
OREANDA-NEWS. April 17, 2008. According to the data available by the National Statistic Bureau, in particular prices for foodstuff in January-March raised by 7,4%, non-alimentary products – by 0,9%, services rendered to the population advanced by 4,8%.
In March 2008 the inflation level made up 1,1%. At that, prices for foodstuff climbed by 1,7%, prices for non-food products raised by 0,7%, prices for services rendered to the population advanced by 1,1%.
In March of the current year the most price climb among foodstuff has been registered for fruits – by 14,4%, meat and meat products – in average by 5%, prices for seed oils advanced by 4,3%. At that, prices for beef increased by 10,5%, pork – by 8,9%, meat semi-fabricates by 9,3%.
As regards to tariffs, the major price climb was registered by rail way transportation services – 2,9%, public catering services increased by 4,5%.
At the same time, March of the current year has seenprice drop for diet eggs (10,5%), milk and diary products (0,9%), potatoes (1,8%), tomatoes (7,8%) cucumbers (1,6%).
According to the National Statistic Bureau, the inflation in Moldova for the last 12 months - March 2007/ March 2008 - amounted to 15,4%. The inflation index for the period March 2006/March 2007 made up 11,2%. The National Statistic Bureau does not take account of the data regarding Transnistria region.
