Export of Ukrainian Metal to Increase after WTO Accession
OREANDA-NEWS. April 16, 2008. After Ukraine gains the WTO full-fledged membership, export of Ukrainian metal products will increase from 14 to 15 percent. This opinion was expressed by Director of the Institute of Economic Research and Political Consultations Ihor Burakovskyi at a press conference.
According to him, increase of metal products export will not occur at a time, but during several years. "According to our tentative calculations, 14 percent of metal products export will take place not at the expense of increasing the production volumes, it will be a clear effect of the WTO accession. It will occur due to abolishment of the exiting quotas for supply of the Ukrainian metal to the EU and the USA", the expert said.
In addition, increase in exports, according to him, will take place also due to cutting export duties for the Ukrainian metal-roll in the WTO member countries.
