Trade Chambers of Moldova and Portugal Will Sign Agreement
OREANDA-NEWS. On April 14, 2008 this was announced during the meeting of the president of Trade-industrial chamber of Moldova Gheorghe Cucu with the group of Portuguese businessmen headed by the ambassador of Portugal in Moldova with the residence in Bucharest Alexander Vassalo.
The document will be signed within the frameworks of the mission of Moldavian businessmen to Portugal. Gheorghe Cucu has informed that on May, 2008, the group of Moldavian businessmen will visit the international exhibition of building materials TEKTONICA.
The delegation of Portuguese businessmen includes 10 companies in the field of construction, consulting management services, production and distributions of bio-fuel of agricultural origin, pharmaceutics, transport, equipment, logistics, environmental protection, etc. Speaking on opportunities of Moldavian-Portuguese cooperation, the ambassador Alexander Vassalo has noted that business circles of Portugal are interested in the establishment of contacts with the Moldavian partners in the field of construction, production of bio-fuel, power, transport, pharmaceutics and cosmetics.
Today Portuguese businessmen have met with the representatives of Moldavian business. According to the Bureau of the national statistics, in 2007, the volume of foreign trade between Moldova and Portugal amounted to 5,2 million, or 46 % more than in 2006. The growth of export to Portugal has made 19,6 %, and import - 47,2 %, respectively.
