On 15 April 2008 was announced, that COMSTAR – United TeleSystems JSC, the leading supplier of integrated telecommunication solutions in Russia and the CIS has been put into the annual rankings of the recognized American magazine Global Finance – "Best Banks and Companies in Russia 2008", under the notion of "Telecom".

The annual rankings of Global Finance covers the leading Russian companies from different economic sectors and is carried out on the base of input from industry analysts, corporate reports and other expert sources. The Best Banks and Companies have been selected on a variety of criteria. Factors considered included market share, profitability, evidence of long-term strategy, management quality and commitment to improvement in corporate governance.

COMSTAR-UTS has been put into the Global Finance rankings 2008 together with major Russian companies and financial institutions such as: Gazprom, Rosneft, Rusal, Severstal, RBC, Baltika, Pharmacy chain 36.6, Alfa Bank, UralSib, Renaissance Capital, Sberbank, VTB, Troika Dialog etc.

The winners will be honored at an awards ceremony in London on April 21st within the frames of "Russia Investment Roadshow". The rankings will be published in an exclusive survey in the June 2008 issue.
