Czech Republic Shows Interest in Ukrainian Aircraft
OREANDA-NEWS. On April 11, 2008 a delegation of the Czech Republic led by the Head of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament Miloslav Vlczek expressed interest in development of cooperation with Ukraine's Antonov aircraft engineering complex. The Czech speaker said this during their official visit to Ukraine, including to the flight base of the complex, reported the Official website www.kmu.gov.ua.
During the visit, the delegation members familiarized themselves with the guidelines, scientific and technical potential, as well as advanced programs of the enterprise, the Antonov complex press service says.
Special attention was paid to implementation of the program for a regional jet of a new generation, An-148, a broad use of the An-74 multifunctional family, opportunities of wide-body military transport aircraft KVP An-70, operation of high-duty transport plane An-124-100 Ruslan within the framework of the NATO and EU program SALIS (Strategic Airlift Interim Solution), one of whose 18 participants the Czech Republic is.
The ANTONOV Aeronautical Scientific/Technical Complex was set up in 1946. Since that time the company has created over 100 types and modifications of aircraft of different class and destination.
The Czech Republic intends to renovate its military transport aviation fleet consisting of An-26 planes. In this connection, a tender may be invited with the participation of the Antonov complex.
