Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan Selected Consultant for Caspian Segment
OREANDA-NEWS. April 14, 2008. Center of International Relations and Calculations of Ministry of Communications and IT of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan KazTransCom have completed works for selecting consulting company to prepare feasibility study for Trans-Asia-Europe (TAE) Caspian segment.
Jalil Jafarov, the Center’s Director, said that three companies have presented their offers for the project.
“As a result jointly with Kazakhstan we decided in favor of Accium International Company. We are waiting for Kazakhstan to solve the question regarding agreement conclusion. We are already ready,” J.Jafarov said.
Decision on holding a tender to prepare the feasibility study was made on November 12, 2007 at the meeting in Astana. It is supposed that new fiber-optic line of TAE with length 400 km to go through Caspian Sea between Siyazan and Aktau and will be TAE’s branch, which goes through Asian and European countries via joining fiber-optic circuit. Cost of cable construction is about \\$7-10 million.
