OREANDA-NEWS. On 14 April 2008 was announced, that in view of development of power-intensive industries, deficiency of energy in the Irkutsk area will occur by 2010, instead of 2011 as it was said earlier. This statement was claimed by Director for the Strategy and Development of Irkutskenergo Evgeniy Filsh at the Town-planning Council under the Governor of the Irkutsk area. According to his words, Boguchansk HPS will be enough for normal operation of construction of the Taishet Aluminium Plant in the area.

In order to compensate deficiency of the electric power, Irkutskenergo is working out the project of expansion of the construction of a new coal station in the Taishet area, and also construction of gas power station in the Ust Kut area. 'We calculate all our programs of development on the basis of the self-sufficiency of the Irkutsk area', Evgeniy Filsh noted.
