OREANDA-NEWS. On 10 April 2008 was announced, that in the 1st quarter of 2008, the production branches of OGK-5 generated 11.96 billion kWh of power (124.3% as compared to the 1st quarter of 2007). Heat output by OGK-5’s production branches totaled 2.6 million Gcal in 1Q 2008 (102.9% as compared to 1Q 2007).

Power output to the wholesale market in 1Q 2008 totaled 11.3 billion kWh.

As a result of the company’s activities in 1Q 2008, 8.4 billion kWh was sold under regulated bilateral contracts (RBCs), including 0.3 billion kWh bought to perform RBC obligations and cover own needs, at the price lower than the tariff set by the Federal Tariff Service of Russia.

Turnover on the day-ahead market (DAM) totaled 4.1 billion kWh, or 2.9 billion RUB, including 0.5 billion kWh under free bilateral contracts (FBCs). Turnover on the balancing market (BM) over the same period totaled 0.9 billion kWh, or 0.7 billion RUB.
