OREANDA-NEWS. On April 10, 2008 the Russian Sectoral Association of Railway Employers and the Russian Union of Railway Workers and Transport Builders (ROSPROFZHEL) have signed an agreement for 2008, reported the press-centre of Russian Railways.

According to the agreement, the leaders of the two sides made a commitment to provide social guarantees for their employees with regard to pay, setting rates, labour safety, recreation and holidays, personnel development and training and environmental protection, as well as promote employment.

The aim of the agreement is to maintain the standards of social obligations to employees in the rail industry which were established during the reform period.

Currently, the employers’ industry association consists of 14 companies, namely Russian Railways, TransContainer, Elteza, Roszheldorproekt, Roszheldorstroy and Remputmash, which is made up of nine factories to repair and manufacture track machinery and transportation equipment.
