OREANDA-NEWS. April 10, 2008. Mongolia is going to cooperate with Russia on uranium mining and processing and, in the future, on NPP construction, Prime Minister of Mongolia Sanjiyn Bayar said before leaving for Moscow.

“In the Soviet times we did big work to prospect uranium deposits and, today, it is time to use the results of this work for our mutual benefit. Uranium is growing in price and demand and Russia’s uranium mining and enrichment technologies are among the best in the world. Few countries have such an experience and we very much hope that the plan of joint action that we hope to sign with Rosatom will open up new opportunities for us in this sphere.”

“We have ambitious plans and are seriously considering the possibility of building nuclear power plants. We are going to develop our energy sector and we need highly-qualified specialists in the field. So, I am going to discuss this issue in Moscow,” Bayar said.
