OREANDA-NEWS. April 10, 2008. As is reported, the House of Europe is to be opened in Ashkhabad within the framework of the EU project of technical co-operation to support project implementation in Turkmenistan. In accordance with the Order of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov the Mizan Business Centre with the total area of 280 square metres is to house the EU representative office. The Turkmen leader took this decision as another step towards intensifying and expanding Turkmenistan-European Union partnership.

The House of Europe will serve as a centre for the contacts and relationships on the aspects of the EU’s activity in Turkmenistan. The EU high-ranking officials and the foreign ministers of the Central Asian countries, who are on a visit to Ashgabat on these days, will take part in the opening ceremony.
