OREANDA-NEWS. April 07, 2008. The Novocherkassk Electric Locomotive Plant (NEVZ) has sent the final 15th main line 2ES5K Ermak AC freight locomotive to Ukraine under a contract signed in 2007, reported the press-centre of Transmashholding.

The customer, which receives the locomotives, is the State Administration of Railways of Ukraine.

All Ermaks serve on the Odessa Railway (OR). Last year, five electric locomotives of the series were delivered to the OR and another ten followed this year. Unlike series 2ES5K electric locomotives NEVZ delivers to the Russian Railways, the batch going to the OR is fitted with a security system and radio station manufactured by Ukraine.

In 2007, NEVZ delivered to its customers 17 2ES5K electric locomotives as well as 27 3ES5K locomotives with a booster section designed to lead heavy trains on the Russian railways.
