Klaipeda Port Authority Participates in TRANSBALTICA 2008
OREANDA-NEWS. On April 09-11, 2008 Klaipeda State Seaport Authority participates in VII International Transport Exhibition and Conference „TRANSBALTICA 2008“ in a joint stand together with port companies, which is taking place in Lithuanian exhibition centre „Litexpo“ ( Laisves str. 5, Vilnius), reported the press-centre of Klaipeda port.
Exhibition and conference „TRANSBALTICA 2008“ is organized every two years since 1995 and its objective is to open Lithuanian, East and West Europe markets both for local and foreign companies. The main groups of topics are: transport services (cargo transportation, cargo handling, logistics, financing), modes of transport (roads, railways, water, air), transport infrastructure (Project designing, supervision, repairs, equipment, materials).
This year in a joint stand there participates a record number of port companies: SE Klaipeda State Seaport Authority, AB Klaipeda stevedoring company (KLASCO), LKAB „Klaipedos Smelte“, Klaipeda stevedoring company„Bega“, UAB „Klaipedos terminalo grupe“, UAB „Limarko juru agentura“ and UAB „Baltijos pervezimai“, and they will present cargo transit, logistics, transport safety and infrastructure development achievements.
In the international exhibition „TRANSBALTICA 2008“ (total area – 19 478 square m) there participate 90 exhibitors this year from 12 countries of the world: Lithuania, Austria, Belgium, Check Republic, Belarus, Latvia, Poland, Holland, France, Russia, Germany and the Ukraine.
During the international conference „EU support for transport sector, Impact on business, science and society“ the general situation of assimilation of EU structural funds in Lithuania will be investigated, comparison of knowledge of transport and other sectors, knowledge of Lithuanian transport sector, challenges and perspectives for using of EU funds, EU common financing projects in 2004-2006 in road transport sector: objectives and benefits, efficiency of EU structural funds for Lithuanian transport sector, significance of European regional development fund for regions and mitigation of economic and social differences, Impact of EU support on the development of inter-modal transport, potential of Klaipeda State Seaport and strategic planning of transport sector and implementation.
