In the first quarter of 2008, transshipment volumes at the crude oil and petroleum products transshipment company Ventspils nafta terminals Ltd, which is a subsidiary of the joint stock company Ventspils nafta, has already reached 3.8 million tons of crude oil and petroleum products, and that is for half million tons more than in the first quarter of 2007.

In the first three months of 2008, the structure of the transshipped cargos at Ventspils nafta terminals Ltd is formed by 2.9 million tons of diesel fuel delivered via petroleum products pipeline and by rail, 0.5 million tons of gasoline of various grades transported by rail and 0.3 million tons of crude oil and petroleum product cargos delivered by sea.

The biggest transshipment amount is reached at Ventspils nafta terminals Ltd in March – 1.36 million tons of crude oil and petroleum products. This amount included 1.1 million tons of diesel fuel delivered via petroleum products pipeline and rail, 0.2 million tons of motor petrol and other petroleum products transported by rail, and 0.1 million tons – cargos transhipped from the sea.
