OREANDA-NEWS. On 09 April 2008 was announced, that a first Russian oil and gas transport scientific educational Center has been opened in Tomsk’s polytechnic university.

The center has been established in the course of the “Environment conservation and ecological friendly oil and gas development, transportation and refining technologies” Innovation educational program. More that 33 million rubles have been spent on it. Having long term cooperation with the Tomsk’s polytechnic university “Transneft” and its affiliate JSC “Tsentrsibnefteprovod” have provided a substantial support in establishment of the center.

Development of the fundamental and applicative research in oil and gas transportation and storage, participation in preparation of the high class experts for the pipeline industry, cooperation with the leading Russian and foreign scientific managements and universities – are the principal activities of the scientific educational center. Well-known Canadian, American, British universities are among the partners of the center. Apart from the higher education diploma its graduates will obtain a master degree.

The opening ceremony and demonstration of the specifically designed equipment have been attended by the representatives of the Ministry of education and science of the Russian Federation, Tomsk’s region administration, JSC “Tsentrsibnefteprovod” and other oil and gas enterprises of the region – participants in present days’ Tomsk’s Siberian educational forum.
