OREANDA-NEWS. On 09 April 2008 was announced, that a first completed sector of the “East Siberia – Pacific Ocean” pipeline (0 km – 238 km) near Taishet was connected to the “Transneft’s” operating pipeline system on April 2 at 12:15 p.m. (Moscow time). The sector filling up with oil started after the working committee had executed an act and required permissions had been obtained.

The sector filling up starts in tie-in point at the “Omsk – Irkutsk” and “Krasnoyarsk – Irkutsk” operating trunk oil pipelines. A clearing and diagnostic loading-unloading center located near the Vikhorevka township of the Bratsk region is set to be the filling up end point.

Construction of the ESPO first stage linear facilities has been launched on April 28, 2006. Taishet – Skovorodino (Amur region) path length is 2694 km.
According to Sergey Sergeev, General Director for LLC “PMO “ESPO” (TSUP VSTO), at present 1895 km of pipeline has been welded, over 1535 of pipeline laid and backfilled, infrastructure facilities are being rapidly constructed.
