OJSC PAVA Reviewed of Major Events of March, 2008
OREANDA-NEWS. On 09 April 2008 was announced, that although the situation on the flour market was indefinite last month (mainly because of the rise in prices for grain), PAVA’s specialists were able to choose the right strategy. This allowed not only to maintain the company’s market presence but also to increase it.
It was in March that PAVA received the official data from the IKAR analysts showing that the grain-processing company became an obvious leader among flour exporters in 2007 – PAVA’s share in the total Russian flour export made up 17,5%.
In March the company continued to expand the geography of its foreign sales. PAVA carried out its first shipment of flour to Kyrgyzstan, and also entered into another contract to deliver flour to Mongolia. The grain processor sent about 700 tonnes of first-grade flour to Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.
Andrei Igoshin, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Galina Balaenkova, Director of International Business Development and Investor Relations represented PAVA at an international grocery fair Gulfood in Dubai. This visit to the Fair helped to get a clearer picture of the situation on the world market of grain processing products and define the lines of collaboration with a bigger potential.
The company achieved positive results in the increase of sales and its coverage of the market of consumer size products under the brands PAVA ® and Altai- Batyushka ® . For instance, PAVA ensured the presence of Altai- Batyushka ® consumer size products in all retail outlets in Bryansk – “ Zhuravli ”, “ Kalita ”, “ Svenskaya yarmarka ”; in huge stores such as “2*2” hypermarket PAVA products are presented on trademarked stands. In March PAVA carried out a promotional campaign for Bryansk wholesalers which brought a triple increase in the volume of deliveries. Today PAVA products sell in 70% of Kursk retail outlets. However, a programme aimed at a 100 % coverage of retail networks and shops of the city will be accomplished in the nearest future.
In March it became evident that PAVA steadily increases deliveries to the regions of Volga federal district. Shipments to the Samara, the Saratov, the Orenburg and the Ulyanovsk regions, the Republics of Tatarstan, Mordovia, Mariy -El and the Chuvash Republic grew several times.
OJSC PAVA established itself as a leader in fodder deliveries to the Republic of Khakassia, the Altai and the Krasnoyarsk Territories. Besides, as the company’s specialists estimate, the demand for them will increase in the nearest time. The most popular fodder in Western Siberia regions is a granulated feed mix for pigs. Moreover, granulated and non-granulated bran is in quite a big demand.
In keeping with the investment plan, the company continues to upgrade the flour mills integrated in PAVA. An automatic system of grain moisturizing was launched at Mikhailovsky flour mill. The new equipment made it possible to improve the quality of the products – to lower flour ash content, to enhance gluten content and whiteness.
