OJSC PAVA Will Ship Flour to Thailand
OREANDA-NEWS. On 09 April 2008 was announced, that in early April OJSC PAVA, the largest grain processor of Siberia and the Far East, will make a shipment of flour to a South-Eastern country, Thailand for the first time ever. PAVA became the first Russian grain processor who established business relations with a partner from Thailand.
Negotiations with potential partners began this year, in February.
Specialists of the Department of Foreign Economic Activity, instituted for cooperation with foreign clients, sent samples of high and first grade flour to Thailand. After the tests of flour quality had been carried out, the partners decided on the first grade. “Colleagues from Thailand remarked on the excellent quality of our high and first grade flour, but at present they only need the first grade in particular. Moreover, despite the last 2 months’ considerable rise in the cost of grain processing products, they also found the price acceptable”, commented Andrei Ananyin, OJSC PAVA Director General. “PAVA” flour will be sent to Thailand through the port in Novorossiysk. It will reach the destination almost in 2 months with 30-35 days of transportation by the sea. It should be noted that such long-distance deliveries require special package, therefore PAVA manufactures sacks by a special order. A standard sack for transportation weighs 85 grams; sacks that PAVA uses for exporting weigh 110 grams. This increase is explained by a special, thicker netting which allows to avoid deformation. Production of this sort of package requires specially adjusted equipment.
OJSC PAVA plans to deliver about 400 tons of first grade flour to Thailand.
