OREANDA-NEWS. April 9, 2008. Power Machines and OGK-4 signed a contract for supplies of power equipment for the 3rd power unit of Berezovskaya SDPP.

The contract stipulates design, manufacture and delivery of 800 MW turbogenerator. The delivery is to take place in the 3rd quarter of 2009. The total price of the contract amounts to 500 million rubles.

Power Machines supplied equipment for Berezovskaya SDPP. From 1985 to 1991 Electrosila and Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod (LMZ), branches of Power Machines, manufactured and supplied two similar turbogenerators and two steam turbines of 800 MW for the 1st and the 2nd power units of the plant.

In January 1992, 800 MW steam turbine for the 3rd power unit of the plant was shipped at LMZ but the construction of the power unit was frozen in the middle of the 1990ies. About 50% of construction works have been finished by now. The project of construction of the 3rd unit of Berezovskaya SDPP was included into the Investment Program of OGK-4. The project is amongst the most important projects of the company.

Once commissioned in the 4th quarter of 2010 the power unit will help to increase the capacity of the united power system of Siberia and to provide power for the growing needs of economy of the Krasnoyarsk Region.
