OREANDA-NEWS. April 03, 2008. The Government of the Russian Federation approved the Resolution "On Amendments to the Regulations on the Federal Antimonopoly Service", reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

Therefore, functions and scope of authority, formalized in the Regulations on the Federal Antimonopoly Service are brought in compliance with the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition".

The Resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation gives FAS Russia the following new functions and scope of authority:

- Monitoring activities of legal persons, responsible for organizing trade on the markets of specific goods, in conditions of terminating state regulations of prices (rates) for such goods;

- Directing proposals to the federal executive body supervising the securities market and the central Bank of the Russian Federation on bringing the Acts, passed by them, into compliance with the antimonopoly legislation and (or) terminating such actions if such Acts and (or) actions violate the antimonopoly legislation;

- Approving state or municipal aid, offered by the federal executive bodies, executive bodies of the constituent territories of the Russian Federation or local authorities in cases specified by the antimonopoly legislation;

- Introducing proposals to the licensing bodies on revoking or withdrawing licenses authorizing certain activities of economic agents that violate the antimonopoly legislation or о suspending such licenses.
