PAVA Expands Collaboration with Foreign Countries
OREANDA-NEWS. On 03 April 2008 was announced, that in 2007 Russia exported 211 tons of flour, says “Icar”, Russian scientific research centre. The share of the Altai company PAVA makes up 17,5% of the total. The biggest grain processing plant in Siberia and the Far East OJSC PAVA supplied about 37, 72 tons of flour to its foreign partners. Thus, the company became the undisputed leader among the exporters on the flour-producing industry market. Such big figures also turned out to be a record high for PAVA in the last three years.
PAVA’s top position in the export of flour was officially acknowledged by the leading experts in agriculture. Participants of the Winter Grain Conference, the 4th Congress of grain processing companies “Niva Rossii” marked the real breakthrough that PAVA achieved in this direction. “Indeed, last year we significantly extended the list of our foreign partners. Recently we defined Georgia as another potential market for us. We’ve already begun to establish contacts with this country”, said Andrei Ananyin, OJSC PAVA Director General.
Several factors helped achieve such considerable volumes and significantly enlarge the list of countries whose customers were able to appreciate the quality of the flour, produced by the Altai grain processor. The first advantage of enterprises included in the PAVA group is their geographical position. The mill industrial complexes of the grain processing company are located close to the export borders of the country. Secondly, OJSC PAVA is the only company over the Urals which can produce huge volumes of products with invariably high quality in demand among foreign partners. And lastly, the company has a Department of Foreign Economic Activity with qualified specialists that draw up foreign contracts.
The undoubted advantage of the flour produced by OJSC PAVA is that the company uses high-grade Altai wheat as a raw material, grown in the South-West steppe areas of the Altai Territory. The natural climatic conditions and the chemical composition of soils provide a high level of gluten contained in the grain. The valuable qualities of the real Altai wheat allow to produce flour of a higher grade with perfect baking qualities. Products baked out of the flour produced by PAVA are fluffy, retain freshness longer and don’t stale.
These qualities of the Altai wheat were noticed and appreciated by foreign customers. For example, Tadzhikistan partners are enthusiastic about the fact that their national pancake lavash baked out of PAVA flour is much tastier. In Afghanistan the company enlarged its base of clients due to the quality of the flour, and word about it spread across the republic. The flour of “Altay-Batyushka” brand is popular among customers in Mongolia where it is available in trading networks. One of PAVA’s partners in Mongolia sends its representatives to Altai who plan to work on a project for further collaboration with PAVA.
In 2007 PAVA entered into contracts on mutually profitable terms with Tadzhikistan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Mongolia, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan.
The grain processing company intends to further develop its relations with foreign partners. In the first months of 2008 OJSC PAVA has maintained the last year’s amount of export deliveries – foreign countries account for a 15% share of the total sales. However, during the current year the company plans a 1,5-time increase of its volume of export. Recently, an active rise in the number of contracts with Afghanistan has emerged. Negotiations with Pakistan, Bangladesh and other Asian and African countries are being conducted. At the moment, PAVA is preparing to draw up a contract for flour deliveries with a huge Australian company.
