OREANDA-NEWS. On 03 April 2008 was announced, that Interpipe had taken delivery of new equipment that will increase full-profile machining facilities for its railway wheel production.

The 100,000t/y line will allow Interpipe’s Nizhedneprovsky Tube Rolling Plant to produce the wheels without subcontractors’ assistance.

German company Hegenscheidt-MDF was chosen to supply the equipment, which is currently being assembled, a company spokesman told CRU Steel News.

Interpipe produced almost 217,000t of railway wheels during 2006, which were sold to national railway producers and global wagon building companies.
