OREANDA-NEWS. On 04 April 2008 was announced, that the Moscow Arbitration Court (MAC) ruled that the tax claims served by Inter-Regional Tax Inspectorate #7 in charge of large taxpayers against CenterTelecom on the results of a field tax audit of the company’s books for 2004-2006 are groundless.

On the basis of the results of a tax audit of CenterTelecom’s financial records for 2004-2006 Tax Inspectorate #7 adopted a decision in October 2007 to impose tax liability against the company for the violation of tax laws. The claims served against the company totaled Rub 440 mln, with Rub 343 mln falling to taxes and Rub 97 mln to fines and penalties. CenterTelecom challenged this decision with the Moscow Arbitration Court. In the course of proceedings the court declared Rub 440 mln tax claims to be unfounded.
