OREANDA-NEWS. On April 01, 2008 the International Monetary Fund recommended Ukraine to reduce fiscal deficit by 1,5 percent of GDP to 0,6 percent of GDP, reported the Official website www.kmu.gov.ua. 

"We recommend to cunt the fiscal deficit by 1,5 percent of GDP in 2008 which will make the budget nearly balanced.

Besides, a minimum wage growth and social spending should be kept in terms meeting inflation single digits, further compensation of the depreciated deposits should be interspaced in time or reimbursed through expanding a taxation base, while tax administration, including VAT, should be improved.

The Finance Ministry expects the fiscal deficit reduction in 2008 from 2,1 percent to 1,5 percent of GDP.
