OREANDA-NEWS. April 2, 2008. Yakutgeology company will be granted the right to make state control for prospecting and developing  gold and uranium in Elkon uranium area, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

A source from Yakutnedra says that Yakutgeology is the only company that has applied for participation in the relevant tender. As a result, the tender has been declared void and Yakutgeology will be allowed to prospect and develop the area as the only applicant.

Yakutnedra expects that Yakutgeology will confirm the estimated gold reserves in the area – 200 tons. The agency gives no estimates on uranium reserves.
