OREANDA-NEWS. On 02 April 2008 was announced, that airline SWISS operated the first flight Zurich – Saint-Petersburg–Zurich. The flights will be realized daily on the comfortable air liner A319 (110–126 seats).

SWISS became the 26th foreign airline which operates scheduled flights into airport “Pulkovo”.

To present day the flights from Saint-Petersburg to the cities of Switzerland have been operated only by STC “Rossiya” airline. Switzerland is the most priority line of route system development of airport “Pulkovo” in Europe for the years immediately ahead. To the end of the year the airport is planning to widen the geography of flights and open new flights to the one of the most developed and rich countries of the world. Convenient connection flights through Zurich will also let passengers of the airline SWISS travel to Europe, the USA and Canada.

Zurich is the biggest city in Switzerland with the population of 360 thousand people, the capital of the canton Zurich (the most inhabited country region with more than 1.1 million residents).
