Moscow Will Get Aviapark with the Biggest Atrium in Russia
OREANDA-NEWS. On 02 April 2008 was announced, that Aviapark retail and entertainment centre is to be built on the 14.35-hectare site at the address: 38A Khoroshevskoe Shosse. The total area of the building will equal 510,000 square metres, the total area of the selling space – 260,000 square metres, the area of the entertainment zone with a multiplex – about 20,000 square metres. More than 170 stores will be represented in the retail centre.
Aviapark is an element of the complex development of Khodynskoe Pole that embraces Grand Park residential community, an office centre, hotels, the national museum of aviation and astronautics, an ice arena and a landscape park.
A car park for customers with the capacity of 6,500 parking spaces is to be put up near Aviapark. It is also planned to launch the flow of public transport and fixed-run taxis to the complex from several metro stations. The construction of a new station near the retail and entertainment centre is stipulated by the long-term program of development of the Moscow Metro.
In the developers’ estimate, about 8 million people will live in the primary trade area of Aviapark by 2011. The complex is being designed currently. The construction is scheduled to be launched in the fourth quarter of 2008. Aviapark is to open in 2011. The developer of the project is CJSC TVK Aviapark, the architectural concept of the complex has been elaborated by Benoy and ABD architects.
