BoD of Bank of Lithuania Held Its Meeting
OREANDA-NEWS. March 26, 2008. 1. Approval of the Annual Financial Statements of the Bank of Lithuania of 2007 and distribution of the profit of the Bank of Lithuania for 2007, reported the press-centre of Bank of Lithuania.
The Board of the Bank of Lithuania approved the Annual Financial Statements of the Bank of Lithuania of 2007 and distributed the profit for the year.
The profit of the Bank of Lithuania for 2007 makes up LTL 323,83 million. According to Article 23 of the Law on the Bank of Lithuania, 50 per cent of the profit should be transferred to the state budget and the remaining part should be allocated to the capital of the Bank of Lithuania.
After the distribution of the profit for 2007, the capital of the Bank of Lithuania will make up LTL 994,13 million (authorised capital will amount to LTL 200,00 million and the reserve capital will make up LTL 794,13 million).
The audit of the Annual Financial Statements of the Bank of Lithuania for 2007 was conducted by UAB Ernst & Young Baltic.
2. Amendment to the Resolution of the Board of the Bank of Lithuania No. 57 of 10 May 2007 on the plan of issue of commemorative coins in 2008 and 2009
The Board of the Bank of Lithuania established that the mintages of each of the four commemorative coins to be issued in 2009 will be 10 thousand pcs. In the first quarter of the next year, a 50 litas silver coin dedicated to Vilnius, European Cultural Capital of 2009, will be issued; the third and final 100 litas gold coin from the series dedicated to the millennium anniversary of the mention of the name of Lithuania will be issued in the second quarter; the third quarter will see the issue of a 50 litas silver coin dedicated to Tytuvenai architectural ensemble (from the series “Historical and Architectural Monuments of Lithuania”); and a 50 litas silver coin featuring Lithuanian nature will be issued in the fourth quarter.
It was also established that the mintages of each of the four commemorative coins to be issued this year will be 10 thousand pcs. In the second quarter of this year, a 50 litas commemorative coin dedicated to Kaunas Castle (from the series “Historical and Architectural Monuments of Lithuania”) and a 50 litas coin according to the silver coin programme “Europe. European Cultural Heritage” will be issued; the second 100 litas gold coin from the series of three coins dedicated to the millennium anniversary of the mention of the name of Lithuania will be issued in the third quarter; and a 50 litas silver coin featuring Lithuanian nature will be issued in the fourth quarter.
The Bank of Lithuania issued fifty three commemorative coins, of which one was issued this year. Commemorative coins memorialize the most significant events of our state, famous persons and architectural monuments.
